About Mazlum

Mazlum (مظلوم, "the oppressed") maps the oppression of Muslims around the world: killings, detentions, expulsions and the destruction of mosques and sacred places. Every number, pin and claim links to a public source: UN bodies, courts, human-rights organisations, satellite research and established press. Where sources disagree we show the range. We list victims and places, and name only states, forces and officials as the sources name them.

How we count

Each record has a place, a date (or a period) and at least one source. The counters add up the lowest documented figure of the records visible for the chosen years, so they are minimums, not estimates. Numbers carry the date of their source. Corrections are welcome.
